Hard hearts @promiseseeker

Why?

It's important to remember that it's ok to ask that when we come across stuff in the Bible that doesn't make sense to us. Why did God harden Pharaoh's heart?

Was it to make sure the Israelites knew it was God that delivered them? God's power? God who saved them from slavery? If Pharaoh had just let them go would they have acknowledged God's hand?

God can use difficulty to point to Him. He can use it for His glory. He can harden hearts as part of His plan. Do we always like it or understand? No. But God is God and we can trust him even when we don't understand.

On the upside of this #promise34, “The Lord said to Moses, “When you return to Egypt, see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders I have given you the power to do. But I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go.”
Exodus 4:21 NIV It is God that is in charge of hearts. He's the one who can turn a heart towards Him. So when we're praying for friends and loved ones to know God we don't need to stress out about 'our' converting them - that's the Holy Spirit's work. We just need to play our part. Ultimately the heart business is God's.
